INSS policyholders should pay attention

In principle, the National Social Security Institute (INSS) has just made life easier for millions of insured people, releasing the income report for the 2024 Personal Income Tax (IRPF) declaration.

In this sense, retirees, pensioners and aid recipients can now access this essential document with just a few clicks.

This guarantees the correct declaration of your income to the tax authorities and avoids future problems with the Federal Revenue.

Simplified access to the report

The process for obtaining the income report was made simple by INSS and can be carried out completely online through the official Meu INSS website (Android: or iOS: https://bityli.com/xnBqul).

With a simple login, policyholders can download the document necessary for the IRPF declaration, ensuring that all information is correct and up to date.

Who is exempt from IRPF?

Good news for many Brazilians: around 15.8 million people who earn up to two minimum wages are exempt from declaring IRPF, thanks to the simplified discount applied to this income range.

This fiscal relief comes at an opportune time, where every saving makes a difference to the domestic budget.

Declaration of other income

INSS policyholders who have other sources of income, such as rent or salaries, must report these amounts additionally.

Failure to comply with this requirement can result in headaches with the IRS, highlighting the importance of a complete and accurate declaration.

What happens if INSS policyholders do not declare their IR?

If you do not declare Income Tax (IR) within the established deadline, the taxpayer will be subject to penalties applied by the Federal Revenue Service.

The first consequence is the fine for delay, which varies from 1% per month on the tax due, with a minimum value of R$165.74 and a maximum of 20% of the tax due.

Furthermore, failure to send the declaration may lead to the CPF being withheld, causing restrictions such as difficulties in obtaining credit, issuing a passport, making investments, among other limitations until the situation is regularized with the Federal Revenue Service.

When does the IR declaration period begin?

Furthermore, the 2024 Income Tax declaration season is approaching, starting on March 15th and lasting until the end of May.

This year brings important changes that promise to make the process easier for millions of Brazilians, especially for INSS policyholders.

Pre-filled declaration

Another new feature is the pre-filled declaration, which promises to make the IR declaration even more practical. This feature auto-feeds the form with information on income, deductions, assets and other relevant categories, minimizing errors and speeding up the process.

To access it, it is necessary to inform Pix with your CPF, facilitating the automatic collection of data from different sources.
