What is the Social Salary?

The Social Salary is a program designed to provide financial assistance to low-income families, including the elderly, who are in a situation of economic vulnerability.

Who is entitled to the social salary for the elderly?

To be eligible for the Social Salary, the elderly person must be part of a family whose income per person does not exceed R$218.00.

It is necessary to be registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico) and register at the nearest Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS).

Basic documents such as identity, CPF, work card, proof of residence and income are required for registration.

Furthermore, it is essential to maintain regularity with your CPF, which can be checked online on the Federal Revenue website.

Know the benefit rules

The program ensures that eligible elderly people receive a social salary of up to R$800.00 per month, deposited directly into Caixa’s Social Savings Account.

To maintain the benefit, families must fulfill commitments in the areas of health and education, such as prenatal care, vaccination, nutritional monitoring of children under 7 years of age and minimum school attendance for children and adolescents.

This year, the Federal Government stood out for the inclusion of several additional benefits in the program, such as the Citizenship Income Benefit (BRC), Complementary Benefit (BCO), Extraordinary Transition Benefit (BET), First Childhood Benefit (BPI), and Benefit Family Variable (BVF).

Payment calendar – February 2023

Social Salary payment follows a monthly calendar based on the last digit of the NIS (Social Identification Number), starting in the middle of the month and extending until the end.
