Adjustment for INSS retirees in 2024

The annual readjustment of pensions from the National Social Security Institute (INSS) is a significant event for millions of Brazilians who depend on these benefits for their livelihood.

These adjustments are crucial to ensure that the value of benefits keeps up with inflation, helping to preserve the purchasing power of retirees and pensioners.

How the readjustment works

The adjustment of pensions and pensions is generally based on the National Consumer Price Index (INPC), which measures inflation.

This index is used to ensure that benefits do not lose value due to increases in the prices of goods and services.

The objective is to ensure an income that allows beneficiaries to cover their basic needs and maintain a decent standard of living.

This year, the adjustment for those who receive above the INSS minimum will be 3.71%. All beneficiaries will be covered, according to the federal authority.

Bolsa Família

As already mentioned, the Federal Government will pay an extra amount of Bolsa Família this year. This is the Vale-gás, intended for those who fall into the category.

To have access, you must be registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico).

Beneficiaries of the INSS BPC (Continuous Payment Benefit) can also have access to Gas Aid, states the MDS.
