Importance of government benefits

Government social programs, such as Bolsa Família and BPC, play a fundamental role in this mission, offering financial assistance to those who need it most.

These benefits not only help alleviate poverty, but also contribute to the well-being of society as a whole, creating a more equitable and fair environment for all Brazilians.

With the Government’s new initiative, Bolsa Família can be combined with the BPC, resulting in a monthly income of more than R$2,000 for beneficiaries.

Who can apply for Bolsa Família?

To become eligible for Bolsa Família, it is necessary to meet some specific requirements established by the government.

The main rule is that the monthly income per person in the family is up to R$218.00. If your family’s monthly per capita income is within this limit, you can apply for the program.

How to register and receive Government benefits?

The first step to request Bolsa Família is to register in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico).

This registration can be done at a Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) close to your residence.

In this sense, keeping CadÚnico information updated is essential to ensure that your family is identified as eligible by the Ministry of Citizenship, responsible for the program.

The selection of families to receive Bolsa Família is automatic and based on income criteria identified in CadÚnico. So make sure your family is signed up and all information is up to date to increase your chances of being included in the program.

And or BPC?

The Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC) is an assistance benefit aimed at elderly people and people with disabilities who are in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability. To be entitled to the BPC, you must meet the following criteria:

Be 65 years of age or older; Have a per capita family income of up to 1/4 of the current minimum wage. People with Disabilities (PwD): Be of any age; prevent full and effective participation in society, on equal terms with other people; Have a per capita family income of up to 1/4 of the current minimum wage.

Furthermore, for both the elderly and people with disabilities, it is important that the applicant and their family are registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico).

How to request the BPC?

It is important to highlight that the BPC does not require the person to have contributed to the INSS, unlike retirement and pensions.

This is an assistance benefit aimed at those people who do not have the financial means to provide for themselves in a dignified manner.

To request the BPC, the interested party must look for the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) closest to their residence or access the INSS website to obtain information on the necessary documentation and application procedures.

It is essential to follow all established guidelines and requirements to ensure access to this important benefit.

Now that you know the benefits accrued by the government and the requirements to apply for Bolsa Família, it’s time to check if you are entitled to receive this crucial financial assistance.
