After all, how does SiSU work?

Initially, using the scores from the National High School Exam (Enem), SiSU is the gateway for many students who dream of entering public universities across the country.

Selection is made based on the score obtained in the exam, and candidates can choose up to two course options, having the freedom to change them until registration closes.

What happens after the SiSU result?

Firstly, if approved, the candidate must enroll at the chosen educational institution between February 1st and 7th, 2024.

Those who are not selected in the first call still have the chance to join the waiting list, expressing interest between January 30th and February 7th.

New quota rules

Furthermore, one of the main changes this year concerns quotas. Now, all candidates, regardless of their condition, will initially compete for highly competitive vacancies.

Only if they do not achieve the necessary grades in this modality and fit into the quota groups will they be considered for reserved places.

This adjustment aims to guarantee a fairer distribution of vacancies, ensuring that quotas effectively benefit those who need them most.

With 264,181 places available in 127 higher education institutions, SiSU 2024 presents itself as a unique opportunity for students across the country.

Namely, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) leads the ranking with the highest number of vacancies, followed by other renowned institutions.

This edition of SiSU is, without a doubt, an important milestone for higher education in Brazil, promising to positively impact the lives of thousands of young people in search of quality education.
