Who can collect the free sanitary pads?

Free collection of sanitary pads is permitted for people who are below the poverty line and who fall into one of the following groups:

They are enrolled in public schools; They are homeless; They are in a situation of extreme vulnerability; They are part of the prison population.

In addition, Brazilian or foreign women residing in Brazil, aged between 10 and 49 years old and registered in the federal government’s CadÚnico, are also included in this benefit.

How to remove items?

To be part of Farmácia Popular, no prior registration is required. Interested parties should simply locate a pharmacy affiliated with the program, bring personal documents such as ID and CPF, in addition to a medical prescription, which can be from the SUS network or the private network.

The program offers a variety of completely free medications to treat asthma, diabetes, hypertension and others.

The list includes medications such as Ipratropium Bromide, Beclomethasone Dipropionate, Metformin Hydrochloride, Glibenclamide, Human Insulin, Atenolol, Amlodipine Besylate, Captopril, Propranolol Hydrochloride, Hydrochlorothiazide, Losartan Potassium, Enalapril Maleate, Spironolactone and Furosemide.

In addition to the free ones, Farmácia Popular offers discounts on a range of medicines, including contraceptives, treatment for high cholesterol, Parkinson’s disease, glaucoma, incontinence, osteoporosis, rhinitis and type 2 diabetes. For Bolsa Família beneficiaries, these medicines are also free .
