Who is entitled to gas assistance?

In principle, gas assistance, a crucial benefit for many families, is released uniformly across the national territory.

It represents essential support in the household budget, especially for low-income families.

This benefit helps cover part of the cost of the gas cylinder, an essential item in your daily routine.

Basic basket for beneficiaries

With regard to the basic food basket, each municipality or state has the freedom to adapt the distribution approach to its specific needs.

Generally, beneficiaries receive cards that allow them to choose foods according to their preferences, thus ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of the aid.

Variety of Bolsa Família benefits

In addition to gas assistance and the basic food basket, Bolsa Família in 2024 offers a variety of additional benefits.

With a minimum monthly value of R$600, the Bolsa Família program serves more than 21 million families.

In addition to the main transfer, some groups can count on additional benefits. They include:

Nursing Family Variable Benefit: an additional R$50 per family member up to six months of age; Citizenship Income Benefit: an extra R$142 per person in the family; Complementary Benefit: guarantee of a minimum amount of R$ 600 on Bolsa Família; Early Childhood Benefit: adds R$ 150 per child up to seven years old in the family; Gas Voucher: bimonthly release of 50% of the national average value of a 13 kg gas cylinder.

This can be done at a Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) or at the city hall.

It is necessary to bring documents from everyone who lives in the house, such as ID, CPF, children’s birth certificate, proof of residence and proof of income.
