Promoting menstrual health is a matter of dignity

The Farmácia Popular initiative goes beyond the simple distribution of sanitary pads. It addresses a critical public health and human rights issue by combating inequalities caused by period poverty.

Menstruation is a natural process, but lack of access to adequate menstrual hygiene products can lead to health problems, whether physical or mental.

Furthermore, as mentioned previously, school dropout and other social issues can also be explained by difficult access to products of this type.

Therefore, understanding how the Farmácia Popular program works and who is entitled to free sanitary pads is crucial to ensuring that those who need it most have access to these vital resources.
