Hey Wii owners, today you get to join players of the 360 version of Rock Band in playing along to Pearl Jam’s new album Backspacer. I haven’t heard the whole album yet, but I’m really liking the first single, “The Fixer.” The vocal melody and upbeat tone makes me wish this had come out at the beginning of the summer, not the end.

The tracks will run you the usual 200 Wii Points apiece. No bulk discount for you!

It’s a special week for Rock Band on the Wii. No, not because we’ve achieved parity with the 360 and PS3 catalogs; there’s still a handful of tracks left to transfer over. No, it’s because for the first time in many weeks, Wii owners get the same downloadable content as 360 owners on the same day — and two days before PS3 players!

This week’s releases include all the PAX-related and Rock Band Unplugged songs revealed in last week’s announcement, plus all the tracks from last week’s PS3 and 360 releases, including five from Talking Heads. How does that strike you? Good? Good.

Aha, I was right: Once again, last week’s PS3 and 360 DLC show up this week for Wii, along with six Dead tracks and a healthy assortment of other tunes. (Including one of my personal favorites, “Feed the Tree,” which just brings me right the hell back to the summer of 1993. Oh Tanya Donelly, you’re so dreamy.) EDIT: Oh hey, there’s a neat little interview with Tanya in the Rock Band Zine.

By my count this brings the songs still waiting to be brought to the Wii down under 25. Anyone want to take bets on when full synchronicity is achieved?
