Rock Band DLC

Rock Band DLC Today: Country and More (For Some of Us, at Least)

Rock Band: Reba McEntireWell now, lookie here: It’s Tuesday, which means that mega-pack of country hits is available today in the Rock Band store. But that’s not all! You 360 owners get an additional treat: the free RBN Megamix. And you PS3 owners, as per usual, get your five-song selection of popular tracks from the Rock Band Network.

There’s one problem with that Megamix, though: Reports indicate that the vocals include some buggy talking parts, making it impossible to pass the song on vox. But hey, it’s free — and there’s 10 minutes worth of really diverse drums, guitar, and bass in there. So it’s hard to complain too much. Still, I’ll let you know if a new version goes up with the fixed vocals.

New Rock Band DLC: Big Country Hits

Rock Band: Lady AntebellumNo, that’s not hits by the band Big Country; it’s another mega-pack of country tunes, this time a nine-pack featuring artists like Reba McEntire, Dierks Bentley, and Lady Antebellum (pictured).

Dierks Bentley What Was I Thinkin’ What
Eric Church Hell on the Heart Hell
Jamey Johnson Women Women
Josh Turner Would You Go With Me Would
Keith Urban Days Go By Days
Lady Antebellum Lookin’ For a Good Time Lookin'
Laura Bell Bundy Rebound Rebound
Reba McEntire Fancy Fancy
Sugarland It Happens It

The songs hit all systems on Tuesday, August 31. Pricing is the usual $2 or equivalent apiece, or you can grab the whole pack for $14.99, or 1200 Microsoft Points. Lego rockers, you’ll be able to pick up almost half these: The tunes from Josh Turner, Kieth Urban, Reba McEntire, and Sugarland are all family-friendly enough to appear in the Lego Rock Band store.

You can find a playlist of almost all these tunes after the break; you’ll have to head to YouTube to hear Laura Bell Bundy’s “Rebound.” Continue reading →

New Rock Band DLC: Disturbed, Crash Kings, The Veer Union, and We Are the Fallen

Rock Band: DisturbedIf you keep your ear to the ground in the Rock Band forums, you probably heard rumblings about this a few weeks ago, but it’s now official: Tomorrow’s Rock Band DLC features a third three-pack of Disturbed tracks…but they’re particularly special tracks. All three come from the band’s upcoming album Asylum, which doesn’t hit stores until August 31 — a full week after the songs are available in Rock Band.

Disturbed The Animal N/A
Disturbed Another Way to Die Another
Disturbed Asylum Asylum

And that’s not all. We’re also getting three songs from three different artists on the Universal Motown label.

Crash Kings Mountain Man Mountain
The Veer Union Seasons Seasons
We Are the Fallen Bury Me Alive Bury

The songs hit all systems tomorrow, for the usual prices. And you Lego Rockers can participate in exactly one-sixth of the fun, with the Veer Union tune. And of course I have a playlist for you after the break; it features everything except “The Animal,” which hasn’t hit the internets yet. Continue reading →

Rock Band DLC Today: The Black Keys

Rock Band: The Black KeysNo, no, I’m not writing in from my vacation. I’m just writing from the past again, is all. While you’re reading this, I’m most likely sipping margaritas somewhere on the Pacific coast of Mexico.

Yes, I know it’s 9:00 in the morning right now on the Pacific coast of Mexico. …And?

Anyway, I’m writing to remind you that those Black Keys and Neon Trees tunes go live today in the Rock Band store. And of course, you PS3 owners get a special, additional selection: five more tracks from the Rock Band Network. Try not to break them.

More New Rock Band DLC: Neon Trees

Rock Band: Neon TreesHey, look: a whole other three-pack for next week’s Rock Band DLC, courtesy of the delightfully poppy Neon Trees. You know, I feel like I should really be more put off by these sorts of ’80s-revival bands, but dammit, I’m a child of the ’80s and I just can’t get enough.

Neon Trees 1983 1983
Neon Trees Animal Animal
Neon Trees Sins of My Youth Sins

This pack joins the Black Keys pack, hitting all systems on Tuesday, August 17. They’ll both go for the usual prices: $1.99 / 160 Microsoft Points / 200 Wii Points per track, or $5.49 / 440 MS for either pack. Dig the retro-modern sound of Neon Trees in the playlist, embedded after the break. Continue reading →

New Rock Band DLC: The Black Keys

Rock Band: The Black KeysNortheast Ohio represent! Akron blues-rock duo The Black Keys is hitting the Rock Band music store next week, according to the band’s website. They’ll be featured in a three-pack that includes the following songs:

The Black Keys I Got Mine I
The Black Keys Strange Times Strange
The Black Keys Your Touch Your

No word yet on whether that’ll be the full lineup of DLC next week, but honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Harmonix is scaling down the number of tracks released as we get closer to Rock Band 3 and its new-style DLC.

Groove along to the bluesy stylings in the playlist, embedded after the break.

Rock Band DLC Today: Ministry

Rock Band: MinistrySure, you can call this a slow week for Rock Band downloads, if by “slow” you mean “not a lot of tracks.” But you can’t call the Ministry three-pack itself slow, unless you have some strange, alien definition of “fast.”

And of course, you PS3 owners get a couple other fast tracks, too, along with some other popular hits from the Rock Band Network.

Hit either of those links to hear playlists of everything on offer today.
