Guitar Hero DLC Today: Rocky Horror

Guitar Hero: Rocky HorrorAmidst all the Rock Band 3 hoopla, let’s not forget that Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock gets three sweet transv — er, I mean, three sweet tracks for download today, courtesy of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Who’s grabbing these? Or is everyone neck-deep in Rock Band 3 today?

Guitar Hero DLC Today: Linkin Park

Guitar Hero: Linkin ParkAnd it wouldn’t be Tuesday without a new offering from the Guitar Hero camp: This week brings six tracks from Linkin Park’s newest album. But that’s not all: You 360 owners who aren’t Xbox Live Gold members now get access to that “Roctober” three-pack that was free to Gold subscribers last week. Enjoy!

New Guitar Hero DLC: Linkin Park

Guitar Hero: Linkin ParkWay back in August, we heard a rumor that Guitar Hero would be getting Linkin Park DLC this month. Turns out the rumor was 100-percent true, according to Dan at Activision’s One of Swords blog. On October 19th, filling the gaping hole in the DLC release schedule, six Linkin Park tunes will hit the Guitar Hero store — all from their newest album A Thousand Suns.

Linkin Park Blackout A
Linkin Park Burning In The Skies A
Linkin Park The Catalyst A
Linkin Park The Messenger A
Linkin Park Waiting For The End A
Linkin Park Wretches And Kings A

The six tracks will be available for $11.99 on PS3, 1200 Wii Points, or 960 Microsoft Points on 360. And presumably the singles will go for the usual $2 or equivalent.

Not familiar with the songs? Well, Activision is willing to help you with that. If you order either Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock or DJ Hero 2 from Amazon next week (from October 17 through October 23), you’ll get a copy of A Thousand Suns for free. Click either of those links to be taken to the respective Amazon sales page.

Or, y’know, you could check out the playlist after the break. There’s that, too.

Guitar Hero DLC for October: Rocky Horror, Disturbed, Muse, My Chemical Romance

Guitar Hero: Rocky HorrorWell, Guitar Hero took a week off for the first Tuesday of October, but the DLC lineup is getting up to speed — albeit slowly.

It’s a bit of an odd month no matter how you look at it. Three new tracks debut today, but there’s good news and bad news there. The good news is that they’re free! The bad news is that they’re free for Xbox Live Gold members only.

Disturbed The Infection The
Muse Resistance Resistance
My Chemical Romance Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na) Na

Next week is sort of another off-week; instead of a new offering, today’s tracks become available for non-Gold members…but not, apparently, for PS3 or Wii owners.

The following week, October 26, we get a three-song pack for all systems. In keeping with the season, it’s a trio of tracks from one of the most popular cult films of all time: The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Meat Loaf Hot Patootie Hot
Tim Curry Sweet Transvestite Sweet
Little Nell Time Warp Time

And then there’s this: Also on October 26, all those Soundgarden tracks that were previously available only as a full pack will become available as singles on all platforms.

The non-free tracks will go for the usual prices: $2ish per tune, with each three-song pack going for $5.49 or equivalent. Check out a playlist of all the new tracks after the break. Continue reading →

Guitar Hero DLC Today: Soundgarden

Guitar Hero: SoundgardenWell, Guitar Hero 5 owners, looks like your DLC well has run dry. Today is a new day, the launch of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, and while that comes with a huge offering of DLC, it also comes with a downside: The new tracks appear to be for Warriors of Rock only. Time to upgrade!

Here’s the whole track list:

Soundgarden Hunted Down Telephantasm
Soundgarden Hands All Over Telephantasm
Soundgarden Outshined Telephantasm
Soundgarden Rusty Cage Telephantasm
Soundgarden Birth Ritual Telephantasm
Soundgarden Black Hole Sun Telephantasm
Soundgarden Spoonman Telephantasm
Soundgarden My Wave Telephantasm
Soundgarden Fell On Black Days Telephantasm
Soundgarden Burden In My Hand Telephantasm
Soundgarden Blow Up The Outside World Telephantasm

Interestingly, these appear to be available as a pack only, for $17.99 on PS3 or 1440 Microsoft Points on 360. (Wii owners, is this available to you at all? I don’t have WOR on Wii to verify, myself.)

UPDATE: The estimable toymachine of The Hero Feed tells us in comments that it is indeed available on Wii, and also as singles!

Dig the playlist of Soundgarden’s greatest hits after the break. Continue reading →

Guitar Hero DLC Today: A Rock Smorgasbord

Guitar Hero: Faith No MoreCiting a desire to “have fans shredding right into the launch of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock,” Activision has unleashed a rare six-pack of downloadable tunes as today’s Guitar Hero offering. If the pack has a theme, it’s “heavy” — pretty in line with most of the Warriors of Rock set list, in fact.

Faith No More Epic Epic
Godsmack I Stand Alone I
Limp Bizkit Nookie Nookie
Marilyn Manson The Dope Show The
Orgy Blue Monday Blue
Papa Roach Last Resort Last

The songs are available today for the usual price of $2 apiece, or you can pick up the entire six-pack for $10.99 on PS3, 880 Microsoft Points on 360, or 1100 Wii points on Wii. And in case you’re not familiar with any of these fairly popular tunes, I’ve embedded a playlist for your listening pleasure after the break. Continue reading →

Guitar Hero DLC Today: P.O.D.

Guitar Hero: P.O.D.Activision’s bringing the heavy to go up against Rock Band’s country offering this week, with a three-pack from venerable Christian metal band P.O.D.

P.O.D. Boom Boom
P.O.D. Southtown Southtown
P.O.D. Youth of the Nation Youth

The songs are available today for all systems, at the usual pricing. And may I present a playlist for you? It’s after the break. Continue reading →
