Amidst all the Rock Band 3 hoopla, let’s not forget that Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock gets three sweet transv — er, I mean, three sweet tracks for download today, courtesy of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Who’s grabbing these? Or is everyone neck-deep in Rock Band 3 today?
And it wouldn’t be Tuesday without a new offering from the Guitar Hero camp: This week brings six tracks from Linkin Park’s newest album. But that’s not all: You 360 owners who aren’t Xbox Live Gold members now get access to that “Roctober” three-pack that was free to Gold subscribers last week. Enjoy!
Way back in August, we heard a rumor that Guitar Hero would be getting Linkin Park DLC this month. Turns out the rumor was 100-percent true, according to Dan at Activision’s One of Swords blog. On October 19th, filling the gaping hole in the DLC release schedule, six Linkin Park tunes will hit the Guitar Hero store — all from their newest album A Thousand Suns.

The six tracks will be available for $11.99 on PS3, 1200 Wii Points, or 960 Microsoft Points on 360. And presumably the singles will go for the usual $2 or equivalent.

Well, Guitar Hero took a week off for the first Tuesday of October, but the DLC lineup is getting up to speed — albeit slowly.
It’s a bit of an odd month no matter how you look at it. Three new tracks debut today, but there’s good news and bad news there. The good news is that they’re free! The bad news is that they’re free for Xbox Live Gold members only.

Next week is sort of another off-week; instead of a new offering, today’s tracks become available for non-Gold members…but not, apparently, for PS3 or Wii owners.
The following week, October 26, we get a three-song pack for all systems. In keeping with the season, it’s a trio of tracks from one of the most popular cult films of all time: The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Well, Guitar Hero 5 owners, looks like your DLC well has run dry. Today is a new day, the launch of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, and while that comes with a huge offering of DLC, it also comes with a downside: The new tracks appear to be for Warriors of Rock only. Time to upgrade!

Citing a desire to “have fans shredding right into the launch of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock,” Activision has unleashed a rare six-pack of downloadable tunes as today’s Guitar Hero offering. If the pack has a theme, it’s “heavy” — pretty in line with most of the Warriors of Rock set list, in fact.
