Oh, I’m pretty sure you won’t have to buy them again — the impression I got was that if GD:RB sees those songs on your hard drive, it’ll automatically add the harmonies, etc. Here’s what the press release says:

“In addition, the six Green Day tracks already available in the Rock Band Music Store as downloadable content can be played in Green Day: Rock Band with added vocal harmonies, unique performance visuals, and exclusive archival material. “

Joe – Yeah, thats kinda what I thought… And that kinda sucks, cuz I already bought the 6 songs. They should just automatically upgrade. Or, can I just re-download? I already bought em once. If I do a redownload, wont the updated ones download then?

Nate, I’m pretty sure that’s what they mean — if you buy the Plus pack you get a voucher for the six songs that are available in the Library now, with harmonies and animations, etc. specific to GD:RB.

I’ve been planning on getting this since they even rumored about it. I”ve been listening to Green Day since KerPlunk, and cant wait to play this game. 6 bonus songs? Does that mean the 6 songs I have already downloaded are them? Cuz that would suck, but either way, the game looks great! If only ALL of the Band centric games were like this (no filler songs!).

Yes, yes, yes. Love the game idea, love the pricing options. I’ll probably get the bonus game and preorder it at Game Stop.

Note: I consider Green Day my favorite band of all time.

eh, by June 8th I will be busy with Mario Galaxy 2 anyways. I just hate how the Wii gets shafted again. I blame the Beatles for delaying the release of RB3 with SDHC support on the Wii. Guitar Hero has really spoiled us Wii users with the SDHC support with exporting/importing

They completely floored me with it being full priced + extra to export. I’m only a passing Green Day fan, and they priced me way out of being interested in picking this up.

My thoughts on single band games being good for the genre when they have full export features is nullified when it costs more than a full game to do.

Absolutely I am. I love Green Day, and contrary to what murph says, band specific games are GREAT when they are treated this way, with export to the platform, and without “guest acts”. Beatles excepted of course.

Now bring me U2 as a band specific, exportable game and I will be in bliss. Just shows Metallica should have gone with Harmonix.

nope. i am not paying $70 for the 5-6 Green Day songs I want. band specific games need to die a horrible death in 2010.
