A Preview of Bands to Come to RBN

Rock Band: Iron & WineWant a sneak peek at some of the bands expected to be hitting the Rock Band Network? You’re in luck; last week Harmonix put up a nice Q&A with a number of label reps, who spill the beans about some of the artists preparing to enter the RBN arena.

I won’t do a whole list here, but there’s a particularly juicy quote from Sub Pop rep Tony Kiewel, who confirms some more bands from the legendary indie label, including Iron & Wine, Fleet Foxes, and Sunny Day Real Estate. Brandon Linnell of Century Media Records also confirms another band I’m particularly excited to check out in Rock Band: King’s X.

Check out the whole article for an idea of what RBN means for labels.

For some reason, I couldn’t edit after I inadvertantly hit post.

Dream pack of tunes: Goldilox, Summerland, Over My Head, Fall on Me, The World Around Me, Complain, Ocean

Of course, if we could get Gretchen Goes to Nebraska as a full album download, I’d be delighted as well.

I’d almost want Beatles RB-style harmonies for Kings X tunes though, you know? Just thinking of that great background vocal Ty(?) sings on that first song on GGTN — Out of the Silent Planet? Man, I really need to grab that from iTunes — only have it and Faith Hope Love on cassette.

Agreed on the harmonies. I really want the harmonies tech to be moved into RB proper ASAP. There’s quite a few songs in the game already that would be great with that support, although I doubt they’ll go back and re-chart them. :(

Also, for shame for not having them in your iTunes library. ;)
