The latest Rock Band Podcast featured some tantalizing news about several bands planning to release tracks via the Rock Band Network. The revealed bands:
The Shins: This arty indie band is no surprise given that they’re a Sub Pop band, and Sub Pop has committed to releasing pretty much their entire catalog via RBN.
Ministry: Harmonix hints that the featured tracks from the legendary industrial act will come from 2007’s The Last Sucker — or at least the first half of the album.
Evanescence: The female-fronted goth-metal band already released a three-pack via normal Rock Band channels, so I find it interesting that they’re going the RBN route.
The Stills: Another arty indie-rock band; I suspect RBN is going to be a serious boon for bands outside the rock mainstream.
All that Remains: Harmonix promises three tracks from this metalcore band, including “the first song that they recorded an acoustic version of,” which RockBandAide suggests is “Forever in Your Hands.”
And finally, yes, Flight of the Conchords: Another Sub Pop act, and we’ve heard rumors for quite some time, but now they’re confirmed. Still no confirmation about which tracks, though.
If you have a hankering to check out these tracks before they’re released, Harmonix has posted a sign-up thread where interested parties can apply. So get going!
