Oh Hey, Rock Band is Getting More Green Day, Too

Oh guyliner. Is there anyone you can't make look douchey?Ooh, lookie here: A two-fer of DLC announcements this week. Harmonix would like you to know that the week after next, we’ll be getting another three tracks from pop-punk poster boys Green Day.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that it’s another three tracks from this year’s 21st Century Breakdown. OK, that’s not exactly bad news per se — it’s a fine enough album, but dammit, if we don’t start getting some tracks from American Idiot I’m going to have to smack someone. Also acceptable: anything from Kerplunk! or most of Dookie.

Come on, people! I know the band wants to keep pushing the most recent stuff, but they’ve got a couple decades worth of stuff that’s as good (and often better). Make it happen. I have spoken.

Oh, you wanted to know which tracks? Well, here’s where the good news returns: The pack includes “¡Viva La Gloria!,” which is in my humble opinion one of the standout tracks on the album.

Green Day Christian’s Inferno Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown (Deluxe Version) - Christian's Inferno
Green Day Last of the American Girls Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown (Deluxe Version) - Last of the American Girls
Green Day ¡Viva La Gloria! Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown (Deluxe Version) - ¡Viva la Gloria!

The songs will hit 360 and Wii on December 15, and the PS3 on December 17, for the usual prices.

As a lifelong Green Day fan I’m happy about this but I too will echo…please put out more music for Rock Band from literally ANY OTHER record, especially Dookie but definitely limited to it.
