Ooh, another juicy DLC rumor! This one comes courtesy of a poster at the Rock Band forums, who spotted Nirvana’s trademark hit in a commercial on VH1 promoting the release of this week’s Bleach three-pack. Shortly thereafter, a poster at the GameFAQs Rock Band forum grabbed the above picture, which clearly denotes “Smells Like Teen Spirt” as a downloadable track.

There’s no telling at this point whether Harmonix has plans to actually release it, of course — this could be an internal version of the song that’ll never see the light of day. And even if it’s not, there’s no telling when it might arrive.

The one thing that casts doubt over this whole enterprise for me is the fact that the track list shows “Teen Spirit,” but neither of the other two outstanding tunes from Nevermind: “Come as You Are” and “Lithium.” I’d be very surprised to see Harmonix release “Teen Spirit” without finishing off the whole album. So that could be an indicator that the whole thing is a mistake — or perhaps that “Teen Spirit” is currently playable at Harmonix, but the other two are not, which could give some indication that we have a while to wait to see any of them.

You do realize that I’m pretty much just thinking out loud here, right? Your guess is probably every bit as good as mine.
