What the hell? Scant days after Altec Lansing announces their Stage-Gig monitor-styled speaker for music games, decidedly higher-end audio manufacturer Polk announces one very much like it.

Polk’s HitMaster will be bigger, heavier, and louder than the Stage-Gig, pushing 60 watts to the Stage-Gig’s 40, and packing in more speakers — two 2.5″ x 5.5″ horns with two 1″ tweeters — for “single-point stereo.”

This one hits early next year, but the price is the same: a $99.99 MSRP. Weird.
