The Hollywood Reporter reports that Limited Edition bundles of The Beatles: Rock Band are going fast.

The “Limited Edition Premium Bundle,” which sells for about $250 and comes with a Ringo Starr/Ludwig-branded “Rock Band” drum kit, could sell out by November, [Viacom CEO Philippe] Dauman told Wall Street analysts Wednesday. … “If any of you out here want to buy some, you better hurry up,” he said.

In case you were wondering, this is how you deal with launching premium product during a recession: You don’t manufacture very much of it. This has two benefits: 1. You don’t have stacks of product lying around, very loudly not making you money; and 2. You increase the perceived value, because the product is seen as limited in both amount and time.
