Sub Pop Says Yes to Flight of the Conchords DLC

My lyrics are bottomless. ... ...Gaming site Team Teabag — wait, I just need to stop here for a moment and applaud these guys on their name. I’ll admit it, I laughed.  Well done.

Anyway, Team Teabag reports that they contacted Flight of the Conchords’ record label Sub Pop for more info about the Conchords DLC Bret mentioned at the Emmys last weekend. Their source tells them to expect two tracks from the Chonchords’ debut album, plus one from the upcoming album I Told You I Was Freaky, due October 20. Their source says the songs will be released right around the release of Freaky, via the Rock Band Network.

But here’s where things get a little confusing: RBN isn’t due to be available to consumers until November. And when Kotaku checked this out with their sources, they were told unequivocally that “the tracks in the Rock Band Network store will not be available for purchase in October.” So, just a matter of fudged dates? I mean, if RBN hits in early November and these tracks are available at launch, that’s still reasonably close to October 20. I’ve contacted Harmonix for clarification, and I’ll let you know if I hear anything.

And in case you’re unfamiliar with Flight of the Conchords and are wondering why this is big news, may I present to you “Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros” — also embedded after the break.
