MTV Multiplayer has just followed up on an earlier story regarding the differences between the Rock Band Network and Guitar Hero’s Music Studio. You may remember that MTV asked Harmonix’s opinion about GHTunes and received a fairly thoughtful response.
Now Neversoft has responded to MTV, with what seems like a bit more heat:
It seems to require expensive software and complicated tools to track music that has already been created through traditional means. Also it appears that the ‘RBN’ requires the multitrack masters….This raises the barrier to entry considerably.
But in all honesty I doubt Project Director Brian Bright intended to be the slightest bit snarky with his response; sometimes nuances get lost in text, you know? And as 1UP points out, he’s not saying anything that’s not true. Still, it’s entertaining to imagine the two development studios at each other’s throats, isn’t it?
