Just got a press release from Activision announcing that Carlos Santana will be a playable character in Guitar Hero 5. He’ll perform the classic “No One to Depend On”…and pretty much anything else, if you’re playing as him.

Here’s what I’m curious about: Santana seems to pretty much play Paul Reed Smith guitars exclusively, and unless I’m forgetting something PRS hasn’t been involved in Guitar Hero before. So I’m wondering if this is a lookalike, or if Activision is getting PRS onboard as a licensor. I find it interesting that you can’t make out the headstock of Carlos’ guitar in this screen — or any other shot of Santana released so far. The shape looks right, at least.
